Rooney Residence — Asphalt Millings Driveway

Rooney Residence — Asphalt Millings Driveway
A full-length driveway rebuild for the Rooney family on a long, tree-lined approach to the home. Instead of pavers, this drive was surfaced with loose asphalt millings, spread the full length of the run, compacted down, and then rolled up and down until the surface locked together. Done this way, the millings knit into a solid driving surface that holds its shape — no shifting, no disbursement, and none of the washboarding and ruts that come with plain loose gravel.
Scope of Work
Full-length driveway grading and subbase preparation, delivery and spreading of loose asphalt millings across the entire drive, shaping for crown and positive drainage, compaction of the millings in place, and repeated rolling up and down the length of the drive to lock the surface so it will not shift or disburse under traffic. Edges were feathered and cleaned up against the surrounding lawn and tree line for a finished look end to end.
Materials Used
